Man, I really think you're focussing on the negatives too much. The way I see it is there was quality discussion first up that allowed everyone to speak their minds, then after the thread started to die down it was hijacked by the usual suspects who everyone takes with a grain of salt anyways.

Over the past few months I've been studying online forums in depth and these themes are pretty common but I do believe that for such an international forum with all the inherent rivalries that exist between the nations, it's damn good cricket discussion.

I mean just look at the **** that goes on in Big Footy and you'll understand how much of a gem CW really is. cont....

Moderating is a tough one, on the one hand you want to let discussion flow freely and naturally, on the other hand you want to make the place pleasant for everyone, especially the better members who may leave if this rubbish persists. But overmoderation can also kill a forum. It's an art form, one I certainly never got right in my time at the job and one that's made harder with no official infraction system (i.e. mods just discuss every issue as it comes to hand and base their decision on precedence or common sense).

I think like any forum, there's the good and the bad. It's the good posters that keep me coming back every day and I try and ignore the rubbish as much as I can.
