Crap Fielding thread

Sulemein Benn in the QF. Summed up by the first ball of the match and his pathetic chase from mid-on to a straight drive that eventually trickled over the boundary.

But that was just the start ....

1000% agree. He must never play for West Indies again. His fielding today was an absolute embarresment and his general attitude is a joke. When you combine that with a terrible spell of spin bowling, it was not his finest hour.

Agree, 6'6 or not, if you play cricket for your country, you have to be prepared to bend down to stop the ball. These pathetic attempts to stop the ball using their foot needs to stop. It's 2015 ffs, not 1985.

how did ABD miss that run out? the batsman was almost at the other end. all he needed to was focus on collecting it cleanly, and then he'd had him. but he decides to go for a quick break of stumps and misses it.

Just so I'm clear on this - is the run-out rule that the stump needs to be uprooted completely on the second attempt after the bails are off on the first (invalid) attempt?

Struck or pulled out the ground completely by the hand holding the ball, yes. Or you put a bail back on and knock it off again.

It honestly has to be the hardest skill in cricket to execute under pressure. Seriously, the amount of times you see people inexplicably **** up simple run out opportunities like that is ridiculous.

"just bowl more yorkers it's easy when you focus"

edit: also it is not crap fielding as it's difficult but QdK cocking up a few of those bouncer bye runout chances deserves a mention

Ab and QdK messing up those runouts and Behardien and Duminy colliding was undoubtedly crap fiedling. We'd be going "lol what a bunch of clowns" if Pakistan had done the same.
