Dear CW,

Due to the recent surge in discussion surrounding moderators, forum rules and the existing infraction system, the Lord Protector (GIMH) and myself have taken it upon ourselves to quit complaining and initiate action instead.

There will be a new, independent infraction system known as the Gandhi and Lord Protector ("GALP") system.

  • To distinguish the infraction points accumulated under the corrupt system and the GALP, points for the latter will be known as "Nixons". Under this new system, if you are unhappy with any Nixons you receive, feel free to leave the forum. There will be no emailing moderators@cricketweb.net - You all know where the door is.
  • The GALP follows the exact same rules as the current system relies on. The key difference is that the rules will be applied by GALP moderators ("GALPers") without the added burden of attempting to make the site more appealing to a certain demographic.
  • If you wish to make reports, please quote the offending post(s) in this thread.
  • GALPers are required to follow up with all reports and take into account community feedback before issuing any Nixons.
  • A report will undergo a particularly rigorous review by GALPers if it exceeds three (3) likes (or four (4) likes if one of them is from the poster zorax).
  • We have heard the cries of CWers demanding to know the outcome of their reports. As such, in the interests of transparency, all Nixons will be made public.
  • If you wish to apply as a GALPer, please submit a request in this thread. The community will decide if you are worthy or not. Existing moderators frustrated with the restrictions placed on them are welcome to apply.
  • We have a strict no tolerance approach to GALPer inactivity and your titles will be stripped if you do not contribute.

This is not an attempt to belittle the work that our moderators do. It is merely an exercise in exposing the flaws in the current set up. Please support this initiative if you love CW.

Apt that the infractions have been given the name of something that would ordinarily be used to describe something deeply unpleasant or inadequate.

E.g. "Oh no, I've just stepped in a Nixon." or "Looks like Furball is talking Nixon again".

Daemon has received 8 Nixons for "Lack of respect for, insulting, or harassment of other members". The member in question is James.

trundler has received 5 Nixons for "Repetitive posting", having made 9,489 posts in a little over a year

Sledger has received 40 Nixons as a serial offender. This is largely related to trolling Asian members.
