Silver for Phillips, Achike can be happy with his performance, Evora no doubt happy as Larry.
The jump by Evora of 17.67 to win gold was the shortest to win in the Olympics since 1988 when 17.61 won.

It happened pretty quietly, but the 90s may have been the 'golden era' of triple jump.

Well Edwards & Harrison broke the 18m barrier in successive years, and 17.70-80 jumps were fairly commonplace in major championships.

Edwards is generally regarded as the greatest Triple Jumper of all-time but he didn't win a global title from 96-99.

I think you're right.

Obviously didn't watch the World Championships relays last year.
Obviously haven't taken note of the fact that in 3 major finals he been either a favourite, or joint favourite for, he's choked big time.

Hope he drops it, or stuffs up Jamaicas chances somehow.

Big clash of all the middle distance legends in the 5000 metres final tomorrow. The Bekele brothers, Bernard Lagat, Eliud Kipchoge among others. Not to mention the small affair of the 800 metres.

Hopefully Former World champion Eliud Kipchoge or one of the new guys turning out for Kenya wins it.

Happened in the 100m final iirc. Say what you like, the guy is **** under pressure. He can thank his teammates he had a big enough lead that he could've run backwards and still won.
