Personal Cricket Statutes

What are your cricket morals? What statutes do you base your whole perception and opinions of cricket on? Rather than have people state their opinions over and over again (ie flat spin, AA, SH etc), might as well just post them in one place.

1/ Brian Lara is still the Test record-holder. :P
2/ Ravi Rampaul is not Test standard... yet.
3/ Dave Mohammed for President.
4/ Australia will be a used force in 5 years time.
5/ Heath Streak is severely under-rated.
6/ Gilchrist's average is inflated.
7/ Flat spin is very effective in ODI cricket.
8/ Asoka... argh.

GREAT Thread!

1. Allan Donald is the greatest fast bowler of modern times and my role model.
2. SA are cursed against winning the CWC and beating Australia..
3. Daren Ganga and Marvan Attapattu have the best techniques in cricket.
4. I dont like watching Australia because they dont have enough characters or quirks.
5. IN MY OPINION!!! Muralitharan shouldnt be allowed to play int. cricket
6. Graham Smith is the perfect guy to captain South Africa
7. Regardless of other peoples opinions, I dont rate Flintoff yet..
8. I think Harmison has improved enormously though...
9. Id rather have MacGill in my team than Warne
10. Jacques Kallis will finish his career as an allrounder second only to Sobers..
11. Heath Streak is the most sporting cricketer in the game.

1) I rate Michael Slater higher than Langer or Hayden
2)The West Indies have the 3rd best batting lineup in the game , after AUS & IND
3)England will never regain the Ashes (at least not in the next 20 years)
4)Jason Gillespie will one day be ranked alongside MM & DL as the greatest paceman ever to play.
5) Sachin Tendulkar is not 2nd to the Don , Sobers , Hutton , Sutcliffe & Pollock were all better.
6)accuracy is the single most important quality for any bowler , without it , you're rubbish.
7) The whole 'sledging' thing is over done.
8) The current Australians are IMO not one of the best 3 teams of all time.
9)Stuart MacGill should be playing Sydney 7th grade.
10) Brian Lara is quite possibly the 2nd most talented player ever to grace the game , despite his record I still dont feel he has realised his full potential.
12)Marvan Atapattu , Mark Butcher & Simon Katich are the 3 most watchable batsman in the world today.
13)Stephen Harmison - see MacGill
14)Martin Saggers is incredibly under-rated.
15)Blewett , Hodge , Hussey , Angel , Elliott , Law , Love , Clark , Inness , Cox , Marsh , Katich , Haddin , Seccombe , Berry , Noffke , Maher , Reiffell , Fleming , etc
would all have played 100 tests had they been born in any other country.
16) Balaji is quite possibly the worst bowler ever to play international cricket.

Stuart MacGill should be playing Sydney 7th grade.

Intresting to have such a massive split... is this a personal hate of the guy or do you honestly blieve that the guy is really really rubbish? Is like everyone there are certian players I just hate, but i can still respect that they are a good player, I think it's just the way they do things or something that bug me about them...I know this is the case for alot of other people too.

IMO I would probley have to take Warne if i was looking purly on Cricketing ablities, Warne has more variations and more control over what he does and one advantage is that he is alot better batsman.

I actually agree with most of Liams points and nobody elses for some reaspn, so anyway...

1/ Ashley Noffke and Matthew Innes should be selected above Nathan Bracken
2/ Ricky Ponting certainly has the potential to be one of the games greats and at the current time is only behind SRT and BL
3/ Ronnie Irani is possibly the worst international cricketer I have ever seen
4/ David Hookes should shut his mouth, for once
5/ Martin Love cannot bat at 6 if he plays for Australia
