Uh, I don't know much about Magrat Garlick that's why I said 'I have no reason to believe...' What did I miss? Is Magrat a transgender? I apologize genuinely if so. I didn't know.
This is inelegantly expressed, and missing the word "person".

No, thanks. I prefer doing my own research unless I find someone extremely knowledgeable about the subject which I have no reason to believe you are.
yikes

this is the danger of assuming you know the most on a topic weld one. sometimes you really don't.

The bubble that she lives in seems... very small.

"We need more debate" in 2020 usually has an understood "about trans issues"" - only someone buried deep in insularity could think debate in 2020 is mainly about trans issues.

I like EVDW's writing and takes/reviews but making that public was a terrible idea.

But in any case this is all incredibly, intensely Online, even by the standards of intra-elite slapfights.

Everyone's bubble is small. The best part about the letter is it can say whatever you want it to say.

That's fine. But it can't say "free debate in 2020 is mainly about trans issues" unless you are absolutely wired to not use the full extent of your brain and look outside of your tiny bubble even a little bit (which is not okay according to me, esp for someone working at Vox)

Honestly I don't really want to comment about transpeople's brain wiring but I'll argue that you can say a similar thing about everyone who signed it, who I'm guessing also had different interpretations of what it meant.
