I think Croatia are a better team than Russia, but I also sure as **** would rather not face the host nation in a World Cup semi final.

Russia would certainly be the preferable option. If they pull off two upsets in a row, the semifinals will almost certainly be a bridge too far. It would be similar to the England-Sweden game IMO.

The fact that this game is close, and not a walkover for Croatia, is enough to make 538 bump up England's chance of winning aws.
