"Controlling inflation is more important than controlling unemployment"

"Multinational companies are unethically exploiting the plant genetic resources of developing countries."

thats in the area of Ghandi and Mandela

not that accurate as many of the questions can be taken in a few ways, probably not the way that i was thinking, interesting nonetheless

Inflation targetting, agreed, is a way of controlling unemployment - the question is asking whether a low, stable inflation rate is more important than low unemployment.

Multinationals and development - if they screw the country over for everything it has and take all the profit out (which happens) then the developing nation is worse of when it started (Poor & Resource Rich ---> Poor & Resource Scarce)

Almost socialist!

Union Meeting tomorrow. Plan is to flood it with Socialst Society members so we can pass the motion to allow us off meetings to go and abuse Bush in London in two weeks' time.

Ah, democracy.

Corey: impressive Libertarianism :)
Cloete: you'll get splinters if you stay on the fence much longer...

Reuben: 1) it's layman's terms, not lame man's terms...

Anyway - economic left/right: right (+10) implies a belief that the market and economy should be left completely to its own devices - no tax, no benefits, no regulation - law of the jungle basically, whilst left (-10) implies total state control of the economy - 100% tax and total state-managed distribution.

Authoritarian/libertarian - Authoritarian (+10) results in pure state control of peoples' lives, monitoring everything they do - basically controlling thought whilst Libertarianism (-10) is basically allowing people complete freedom to do what they want within reason.
