The Political Compass Test

Spark

I was randomly thinking about this last night, I think he would have been in the top left. He was very vocal about despising neo liberalism, taxing the rich etc.
Nah he would have been right up the top and somewhere in the middle.

I think it's really hard for people to actually get top top left in this test even if they belong there. Some of the questions really set up a "blue square" to "green square" dichotomy, and left authoritarians usually aren't ideological enough to sort of overcome that in the way right-libertarians are. I've seen lots of people with watson's views end up more or less where Spark said on this test, even though if they took one of the other similar ones I think they'd absolutely end up top left.

I've managed to score -10 economically and 3.79 for authoritarian deliberately answering questions to try and sound as authoritarian as possible.

edit: it would probably be possible to score more authoritarian because I was still answering questions like the "homosexuality is ok" honestly.

The only person I've seen who actually got a properly-red-square result was basically just a troll anyway.

I've seen a guy answere the questions as honestly as he can and got a red square result.

It goes without saying that he's a complete lunatic but hey ho.

Nearly no one comes out being right of center on economic scale on this test, which can only mean that the test is somewhat biased. I also got left of center on both scales, though I don't believe I am on the economic one.

Economic Left/Right: 1.5
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.18

Did this the other day and came out on the left. I assume this is probably down to vaguely/badly worded questions.

I think there was one political compass test with a thing of "how much does this question matter to you?" That's useful given these tests usually have a question about something you know **** all about.

Yeah, there was a question about marijuana in the questionnaire. I have no clue what Marijuana does to people and its legal status in different countries. I don't know what I answered.

I got an almost identical result on this one.

You are a left moderate social libertarian.
Left: 5.08, Libertarian: 2.54

Previous one:

Economic Left/Right: -4.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.54

You are a center-left social libertarian.
Left: 1.3, Libertarian: 4.35
Foreign Policy:
On the left side are pacifists and anti-war activists. On the right side are those who want a strong military that intervenes around the world.
You scored: -4.23
Culture:
Where are you in the culture war? On the liberal side, or the conservative side? This scale may apply more to the US than other countries.
You scored: -6.22

so because this test is less obviously based in cold war old left scepticism about globalisation, it thinks i'm centre-left instead of centre-right. still, neoliberal squish etc etc. curiously still thinks i'm right-of-centre wrt australia though; i feel these quizzes have an extremely superficial understanding of capitalism (and socialism, for that matter).
