You're crazy. Duminy and Kallis batted pefectly. None of the other batsmen stood up and contributed. One more quick 20-30 would have won it.

You can't blame someone as low down the order as Duminy for the loss.

1- Smith didn't do anything in the whole IPL and has continued that into, and throughout, the T20 WC. His average of 25 with a SR just over a run a ball is ****. Had he not been Captain, he'd have been dropped and Gibbs moved up the order.

2- It's not Duminy's choice where he comes in since he is neither the captain or coach.

3- Albie Morkel is in no way a guaranteed match winner. He is about as hit and miss as they come. He hasn't been in great from since before the IPL so there's nothing saying the result would've changed.

4- Pakistan, surprisingly, bowled AND fielded well other than the usual suspects (Gul, Afridi bowling, Malik fielding).

5- Gul has been especially good this tournament. The way he bowled at the death today was superb. I can't see many people smacking him for boundaries (which was what was required after flops by Smith, Gibbs and De Villiers).

Why don't they find an alternative captain outside of tests? Smith obviously doesn't score quickly enough for T20 and maybe 50 over cricket, especially now that he's carrying an extra three or four stone in weight.

Calling for Grame Smith to be dropped from ODI's is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on here, seriously. Averages >40 with an SR >80. He hasn't been on form in this tournament, but his T20 record is good, no way should he be dropped.

Smith's one of only 3 openers in the history of the ODI game who have managed to combine an average of over 40 with a SR higher than 80.

So calling for him to be dropped is nonsense as far as ODIs go.

But you're only as good as recent form. He seems to have lost a bit of hunger for the game and has piled on weight. He's not really a big six hitter either so is not as suited to T20. When was the last time he scored an international T20 half ton?

And back on topic, Duminy looks to be more of a test player than a limited overs one but the ODIs suit him more because he has more time to get his eye in but he is not the type of player to come in and swing.

We are talking about the cricketer who took South Africa within sight of winning the semi-final? Duminy is not to fault for the failures of AB, Morkel, Gibbs and Smith.

Seem to recall Duminy playing two fantastic T20 innings in Australia. Swinging the bat from the outset. The same Duminy who has been a revelation in the field, and useful with his off-breaks in T20.

Duminy would be the least of my worries if I was a South African supporter.

You talked about the 50 over game, a version where Smith's place and record can't be questioned.
