Ganguly in the World Cup 2003 final comes to mind, but the umpires were having none of it. That one bounced a foot in front of him and he threw it up and started celebrating. To make it even better the batsman didn't even hit it lol
That was Gilly. Couldn’t believe he turned around and joked with him about it. I’d have wrapped the bat around his ears

I can't be arsed rehashing the Joe Root thing. The research is there for anyone who wants to do anything other than cry cheat.

I did enjoy David Lloyd's comment that the fielder isn't always sure and replays are not always conclusive.

Very true David.

"Recent performances". I.e. the tripe he served up against Pakistan, the Windies, India and Sri Lanka. Not that one innings in the first test against Australia.

If Anderson and Archer both play then Broad is the weakest link in England's pace attack. Ergo he is the one to make room.
Ah yes. He's having a good series (as he tends to do in the Ashes) but now let's drop him because his last few weren't great. Makes sense.

Anderson/Archer/Broad is an awesome pace attack if all are fit. I can guarantee you now Broad doesn't get dropped.

Could always have Stokes play as specialist bat if it came to it and slot Woakes in too like Pothas said.

He kind of is, no? Even if he didn't bowl at all he'd still be holding his own as a batsman in this team (although obviously the fact that he bowls relieves the pressure on him to score consistently game-after-game). Even moreso if he bats 5.

If banning 3 players for 1 year for ball tampering doesn't give you the moral high ground then nothing will.

There's nothing imaginary about it if Australians claim the moral high ground after that, they've earned it
So if you commit a crime and then admit it do you have the moral high ground to chat about other people committing crimes? Bad & dumb argument.

We're slowly coming to the predictable conclusion of the sandpaper saga where australia once again claim the imaginary moral high ground and clap themselves on the back for (stupidly) punishing their own players for cheating. Hopefully if one day virat kohli gets caught tampering, the bcci tells the CA to piss of if they expect them to ban their own player to uphold make believe values.
I reckon the moral high ground issue is a cover for other fan's prejudice to sound righteous and, well, moral.

This doesn't add up. You're replying to a post in which an Indian fan literally says he hopes kohli gets away without punishment if he gets caught cheating. "righteous" isn't the word I'd be using.

Yeah that's what I mean really.

That's how vegans and born again Christians think: I ate meat and I did whores for twenty years, but now that I've gone green and brought Christ back into my life, YOU ARE THE RAPIST AND YOU ARE BURNING IN HELL.

Great match and great thread

stephen posting biased rubbish - check
burgey bringing up dhoni's catch - check
OS bringing up steve waugh's disgraceful antics - check
bambino having a wahh because he can't take a joke - check (i actually don't know if this happened but surely it did)

best part was adders getting drunk and giving TFO a spray though

maximum wahhh achieved. good work everyone.

What do you mean by fitness? He was declared fit. With a fit Bradman, Australia would be 2-0 up. Stupid comment.

Jimmy is at the fag end of his career. With bowlers, this tends to be when they are more susceptible to injury. Just look at the sad end of Steyns career. I'll tentatively agree with you if you mean a fit (5 years ago) Jimmy. But a fit (current age) Jimmy is always likely to have this happen, which is sad. England needs to move on lest Jimmy become a joke and ruin his legacy.
Yeh, ok, I mean, one is dead and the other has played 4 Test Matches overseas this year averaging like 24. But, good comparison I guess.

I suppose me keeping it going through dull evening sessions is yet to make official check lists but I do not mind being an unsung hero.

I think if you're a rapist you probably will burn in hell, if such a place exists, But maybe we just look at things differently here.
