:( How did we lose that...

Very happy with the first innings effort, not so in the 2nd... And it seems my batting has gone to pieces :(

Any dropped catches in Worcs 2nd innings Liam?

With back to back Test Matches from the 1st Test and 2nd Test. I wouldn't mind Smith, Collins and Borcich playing one FC match. Depending on the selection for 2nd Test, of course. Apart from that there is enough tour matches to keep players match fit.

BARNES OUT
I'm not saying I'm not happy to get a call up, but we both know unless one of Hakon or Thamba die and therefore go inactive, I'll likely not get many caps, especially considering my record batting at three in FC games and Jaso's start to his "international" career.

All I wanted to do is play some games, but whatever.

You wouldn't play a first-class match in the buildup to the first Test. It just doesn't work that way. During the Test, presuming you haven't been picked, it'd be fair enough.

There are three tours matches left outside the Test matches, where the guys that missed out on the first two matches are likely to play all three games. So it not as if your going to not get any matches.

Also there are quite a few batsmen in the current Test XI who have hinted as potential retirement in the near future. So it is pretty important that any guys on the tour party get as many games with the current guys in the starting XI. So if those players do retire soon then we have a direct replacement and we know where they can fit into the starting XI.

But end of the day you take it game by game when it comes to releasing players. If the side unlikely to change much after 2-3 Tests. Then players might still be released for 3rd or 4th Test.

I just don't see the point in releasing players for every game possiable. There is player burnt out issue too. I wouldn't want to release a Test squad for OD game for example, just a waste of time, as the main reason for releasing is to give them match time and an extra chance of selection.
