Lost count how many balls Gerrard has won/intercepted. Having a brilliant game. And a brilliant tourney too - 3/5 England goals have been assisted by Gerrard.

We're getting completely over-run in midfield, and Young's disappeared from view. I feel odd saying it, but there's a case for bringing on Phil Jones to support Parker & Gerrard for the last 15.

Ibrahimovic is a great footballer - cant believe that the dodgy ruski hasnt offered him a kings ransom to live in London

Credit where due - I honestly didn't think we'd make it past the group stage before the tournament. All things considered, it's a decent achievement for this bunch of players.

And in other news, Terry and Shevchenko coming over all Moore & Pele at the end there.

Seen better performances, but usually when we play like that the best we hope for is 0-0, so I'll take it.

Well done England, another decent win. Ukraine a pretty crap side though, Italy should make for an interesting contest.

All so very easy in the end.

Ukraine did score, let's be frank, but that just reinforces the argument for goal-line technology.

Have to say hats off to Woy, he's made us into a well organised, if somewhat mediocre, team. Still, you can only piss through the cock you've got.

Gerrard's been massive so far, Welbeck had a great first coupla games but was anonymous tonight. Milner continues to look out of his depth. Good engine, etc, but not an international class player.

The commentators talked about Rooney being "rusty", if they'd watched United at all this season they'd have realised that's what you always get- 90 minutes of horrendous link-up play and the winning goal.

1-0 to the England is becoming a bit of a pattern. Tonight felt like a replay of the Belgium and Norway games and the France game could very easily have gone the same way. They're playing to their strengths and don't look at all easy to beat, Italy game should be fascinating.

Hard to think of many players that have outperformed Gerrard thus far in this competition.
