Roasted Potatoes vs Mashed

Roasted for sure.

Mash is alright for your quick midweek meal of meat n 3 veg, but it's nothing special and I'd never bother with it when I'm making any sort of effort.

PS,

Is it time for an "Official" Food/Cooking/Eating thread??

An american colleague said that "I am an American, and we love our mashed, with double the milk and double the butter."

That had me thinking

Needs to be a whole subforum tbh

Althought i do think all of English cuisine can be quite aptly captured in a single thread. The fact that potatoes and gravy matter so much to you all is quite depressing.

Nah you need to understand the context here Zorax, it's not all of us......

Spuds and gravy are important to Northern Gits (GIMH), but not so much to Southern Shandy Drinkers (me)

Agreed. It's the equivalent of Bangladesh cricket, all posts concerning which should simply go into the "Cricket related stuff that doesn't really deserve a thread" thread.

When did your trolling efforts become so weak.

I'm fatigued. Been a long year batting away mediocre fodder. Heading off for a rest soon so I'm fresh for the Australian summer.

Mashed made with loads of butter is truly amazing

Favourite potato dish is either sweet potato fries or baked potato with sour cream, chives and lots of bacon bits

Not a huge fan of potatoes tbh, I find they're too filling. Prefer sweet potato or parsnip as a root vegetable.
