*Official* Indian Premier League 2010

Furball

Evil Scotsman
Cameron White hits the winning runs.

The Kings are totally ruined. What's also dire is that while the overeas batsmen have been supreme for the winning team, the locals (Pandey, Uthappa, Kohli) were far from impressive, getting dismissed way too soon. Ominous signs ahead for India in the World T20- fair, those three are not in the squad, but still, we've yet to see Indians consistently carry their teams- bar Sachin, who's not playing T20Is.
Uthappa turned the game ffs.

They'd still have a chance if they were pegged against Australia. Even after the mess of the past three games Lee has had, I can still see him opening the bowling for Australia...

Think you're being a bit harsh, mate. Pandey never really got going, but Uthappa gave the innings momentum with twenty odd off v few and, twatty dismissal aside, Kohli batted well.

Pandey was just at the wrong end of an arsey runout. Kohli was unlucky that one of the catching opportunities stuck, and Uthappa managed to dine out on Lee and slice up the RRR.

Uthappa was the game-breaker really, sure some of the bowling was tripe but hitting Lee's low full toss for six straight was what swung it around. He should really have been in the squad ahead of Gambhir. The guy just comes out and puts the ball over the ropes without trying, there is no substitute for that. Kohli's innings was also a good one.

The ominous signs are the number of prank seamers in India's squad. Their best chance is if the pitches are atrocious enough to allow them to use lots of the part-time spin options successfully.

Surely you are kidding.

Would rather have him For Rohit.

Though i am pretty sure that once we go outside of India and if the tracks are really slow or bouncy even in the west indies ,uthappa will be ****.
Gambhir gets the best out of sehwag too.

We just do not have many genuinely good seamers. It is an unfortunate truth, but the quality deteriorates quickly once you get past Zaheer. R Vinay Kumar is okay, a tad on the slow side, but seems to have his head screwed on. Praveen is occasionally sublime and occasionally terrible. Ditto Nehra, but no one particularly special in the whole country, tbh.

Will reply to this in the T20 WC forum.

To be honest u do not really need any special bowlers in t20.
Just effective is good enough for most of the time.

I think the pitches will be slowish at this time of the year in the windies,so spinners would be effective.India could have perhaps used one more in the squad.

Bloody stupid work on field from the Keyzips in the last few overs.

Bopara you ****.

Wow Lee just wow.

And arjun welcome to earth prime. You'll be glad to hear Virat and Uthappa are doing much better than their earth one counterparts.

Rajasthan vs Chennai tommorrow.

Bollinger and Hussey back for Chennai.

And Watson arrives for Rajasthan.

Should strengthen both teams considerably.

Yeah Doug is one who'll be really needed by Csk. Am not sure about Huss though. They're already well settled in the batting department and will have to drop Hayden to include him.

Interestingly almost all australians have been under par in this IPL.

Warne, Martyn, Tait, lee, gilly, haydos, symmo, bailey etc.

Warner I think is the only guy who's performed, Marsh has played only 2 games. White too.

Interestingly the teams with least Australian participation are leading the league tables by a reasonable margin. MI don't have a single Australian in the squad, while RcB has just white who hasn't really been required to contribute.

Moody and co. Will have to take the blame for persisting with an out of sorts Lee ahead of an in form theron, who ironically is the one who won them their only win, unless the latter is injured.

Sangakkara had a worse game tbh. Played a decent knock with the bat, but his captaincy was dire, and his fielding equally as bad as Bopara's. His tame throw when there was the run-out chance of Kohli was just awful, as was the dropped chance which he then kicked for 4. Not defending Ravi, as he had a shocker in the field too, but Sangakkara was worse AFAIC, but most people tend not to slag Kumar off, as he's a likeable bloke; had a shocker today though. Was an all-round terrible performance in the field from KXIP. The only time they were doing well was when the spinners were operating, so what did Sangakkara do? Yeah, whipped on the seamers that were going at 10's, quality logic Kumar.

Nice to see KP get a few runs, even if they were fortunate. Couldn't believe they continued to drop him, obviously looking to boost KP's average for him. Had a nice start to this tournament, shows how important form and fitness are. Pretty harsh to slag KP's performances of last year off. He was under huge pressure as captain, and was suffering with his bad achilles injury. Nice to see him showing the IPL what he can do. Hope RCB keep him at 3.

Yeah Sanga and Sree were also **** on field.

Hopefully today's Uthappa innings will put doubters to silence is to whether he should bat ahead of white. Dravid is redundant at no.7. He is still largely a liability in the field and hence brc could think about a young guy there, and all rounder or a bowler even.

Bollinger, Murali, Hayden, Morkel should be the overseas combo for Csk imo.
