Many people don't seem to take twenty twenty cricket seriously but how do you think coaches and players will treat this tourament. And what is your opinion.

i dont see why this shouldnt be taken seriously...it is a tournament and a world cup at that! i think all forms of cricket should be taken serously. Teams that dont are just being ignorant and stupid IMO....after all, it is the first WC as well.

It will be taken very seriously.

SA loves its Pro-20 and it will be a fine tournament with a lot of hard cricket.

I think you might see a few fringe players here and there, but most sides would be near full strength one would think.

Yeah, the only thing is that several of the major teams have pretty hectic schedules in the following months, so a few players, especially some of the senior players, might be rested - although given the ICC will want people to take it seriously, I'm sure it will be phrased more diplomatically than that.

Regardless of any irritation guys like Ponting and Gilchrist etc may express about the idea, I expect that once they're there they'll be trying their best to win.

Is there prize money attached to this btw?

Simple really. If you win you take it seriously. When you lose then its a "bit of fun".
