*Official* 1st Test at the SWALEC Stadium

Norwood's on Fire
Does play start a bit early today from all the carry on yesterday meaning missed time?
No - we played on late so still got a full day in in terms of time, just not overs

We never start early here just for. So any lost time through the series will always be made up at close of play. Especially makes sense in the July Tests where it's still light at 10pm (not that they can go that late)

Other than the root chance I thought he was ok. It's that kind of pitch where I'll be surprised if one of the keepers don't end up breaking their fingers.

Plus there were so many balls sprayed down the legside.

That root chance though, holy ****.

Healy did make a good point though that when the bounce is so variable keepers start thinking up and down instead of sideways, which you can think of almost exclusively when you can trust the bounce.

He's always had heavy feet, and that habit's just getting worse now that he's older.

Think the Rad drop is not as straight forward as people think. It was swinging in at yorker length so you can excuse the keeper for not expecting an outside edge and the fact is its swinging in means the keeper is naturally starting to move towards the leg side which was the case with Rad here.

Root's dismissal in the 2nd innings of the WACA was very similar but johnson wasn't swinging it in on that occasion so Rad didn't have to start moving towards the legside

no he wasn't

he is so bad these days it's not even funny. So many average balls down leg that any under-15 keeper would anticipate and take easily he stands there and at the last minute dives like an idiot because he's either senile or just trying to get dropped

Look where he started at the point of delivery.

I mean, I don't want to be too hard on the guy because Starc is rapid and it was a fast nick but I'm guessing he was basically in that position specifically for a nick like that and still managed to look leadfoot. He's not quick enough to be the Test 'keeper any more and hasn't been for a while, tbh.

You only go one hand for that if your feet are lazy. Because you think it's ages from you.
