Haha how embarrassing, absolutely killed'm. Pickup finding some form, Watt and Robbins playing big roles ( ), and Camps restricting his 6 overs to just 8 runs...

Markus with another lazy half-century. Good stuff.

Woah, demolished. Feels odd as they smashed us at a ODI pace in a couple of the test innings but the bowlers really put in a brilliant performance here and the openers chased it down with ease. Great work guys!

Congrats to Crampton for a fine 'keeping debut as well :)

Crampton and Halsey shine, as Pakistan implode
Pakistan vs Cricket Web XI - 2nd ODI
at the CWBCC Stadium

Scorecard
Commentary

The Cricket Web XI emerged victorious after recovering from the precarious position of 146-6, batting first at the CWBCC Stadium. It was a Blue union, as Alex Crampton played beautiful to score a fifty in his debut ODI innings, supported closely by Tom Halsey.

Arshad Khan's 3 wickets stirred the trouble, and only 64 from captain Brendon Goff kept the top order afloat. By the time he inexplicably holed to long-on, the situation looked dire for the Webheads. But the next 14 overs were an exhibition in batting depth, and both Crampton and Halsey played sensibly and positively, compiling an unbroken 92-run stand.

Crampton crashed Yasir Arafat behind square in the final over, bringing up his half-century from only 57 balls. Equally effective, Halsey faced 38 balls for his 44.

The heroics set a tricky target of 239 for Pakistan to level the series. And they were found to be struggling before the end of the first over. Shahid Afridi picked out gully with the second ball he faced, and Nathan Hoy claimed the first of a fine 4-wicket bag.

When Farhat was dismissed, the score sat at 34-2, but Shoaib Malik and Inzamam-ul-Haq played the rescue role they had witnessed earlier. With the two experienced heads batting, Pakistan were cruising toward their target at the required rate.

Then, much like his opposite number earlier, a rush of blood saw Inzamam caught at deep midwicket by an elated Hoy. Younis Khan joined Malik and the two continued to play Pakistan carefully into a solid position.

Timed to perfection, Halsey took his first wicket of the series, spinning past Younis Khan's defence with a big legbreak. The breakthrough was immediately – a ball later - made doubly worthy by Pickup, and Malik's wild slog resulted in his stumps being shattered.

Utter confusion took a turn for the absolutely bizarre with the dismissal of Hafeez to a lofted shot an over later. In the space of just 11 balls, Pakistan had imploded from 151-3 to 158-6. And unlike the home team's display, there was no dramatic recovery on show by Pakistan. Instead the final 4 wickets tumbled for 38 runs, completing a slide of 7 for 45.

Tom Halsey ended with the superb figures of 10-1-28-2, ensuring that he edged past Crampton for the Man of the Match award.

Unfit Goff to miss remainder of series

The Cricket Web XI will be without their captain Brendon Goff as they search for a series victory against Pakistan. Already 2-0 up in the best of 5 series, the CW XI will not have the services of Goff for the final 3 games.

The Webhead captain has been termed to be 'unfit' in a very unspecific report to the media. There are suggestions of a personal problem being at the heart of the issue, but many are reluctant to believe that Goff has simply withdrawn from the remainder of the series.

It is the first major injury blow to the CW XI camp since Chris Butler was ruled out of the series well before the first Test.
