That to and fro stuff has been happening for a long time I think. But it's no reason to be stupid is it?
I mean it's self defeating to say something that can be shown easily to be way off the mark- like if I said Cairns was crap or Vaughan couldnt hold a bat.
How can you claim that Saurav Ganguly after scoring 19 hundreds and 50 fifties is useless and hope to get away with it!
Atleast Neil stops at saying that he just wants team X to win in any X-India match!
I agree with you 100% f_l, its these supporters whom ive had many discussions with in the past. They seem blind, and unsportsmanlike and love to rub Indian wins into other people's faces. Which has disgraced and given a bad name to other Indian fans like anil, vishnureddy, yourself and myself.

These England celebrations are more out of getting even and revenge so to speak with the idiotic and moronic Indian posters.
Im sure people like Rik, Neil etc. like India and appreciated their entertainment value before the controversial Indian members came into this forum.

Either way, Ganguly doesn't have any other option but to form a fifth bowler group from part-time bowlers. Even if we include a "specialist" 5th bowler, chances are that he will go for a lot and it will weaken an already brittle batting lineup which India just cannot afford to do.
I still think Bangar could do a job as 7th bat / 5th bowler in those conditions.

A group of Indian posters, most of whom I don't see nowadays used to irritate these guys especially when England were losing to India and when England were being thrashed by Australia. A lot of these guys became antagonistic to the Indian team after that. That, I think is the main reason behind all the glee for India's NZ disaster and anticipated downfall in the WC.
Right there - and I guess it'll settle down after the World Cup, but until then we have a point to prove! ;)

Right on MB :)

And Rik, writing India off is short-sighted in the extreme. Form is temporary, but class is permanent, and a lineup of Sehwag, Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid, Kaif and Yuvraj can destroy anyone on their day.

Write someone off and you're halfway to losing.

uh I don't know about that.. I'd rather go personal!
Otherwise I'd be inviting others to slam something I like..

That's why I restrict myself to calling Rik stupid :D Didn't call all Englishmen stupid.

Bangar is a slow medium bowler. As such, he has to be very accurate(more or less just outside off-stump line and three-quarters length) throughout to keep quiet the Aussie batsmen for whom pace is their staple diet. Players like Gilchrist, Hayden and Ponting can upset any bowlers' rhythm. I feel they are more prone to errors against spin(even part-time spin and that too, everyone except Hayden) and that's why I thought someone like Bangar might prove to be a liability against the Aussies on fast, bouncy tracks. As for his batting, other than that hurricane 50 against the Windies in India, he hasn't done much as a batsman. I know he has only played 11 matches, but.....I will be more than happy to be proved wrong. Anyway, let's wait and see.

I keep wondering why Reetinder Singh Sodhi is never in discussion when taling about allrounders for India.

Also, why do they only choose between Dinesh Mongia and Laxman?

They should be choosing two from Dinesh Mongia, Laxman, Kaif and Hemang Badani.

We have terrific resources, unfortunately being squandered.

I think what Marc means is that if Bangar bowls at his best and bats like he normally does, hes a terrific option.
Sure, thats true. THe only problem is that he doesnt seem to inspire enough confidence to get a full quota of overs ever.
He often times ends up bowling less than five overs because his bowling becomes a liability.
In SA he may be successfull. And one good thing would be that we wont be bowling 30 overs of spin and Ganguly.

Ya think?

Maybe you might want to add the fact that whenever someone says something not supportive of India they are immediately branded an "Idiot" and are told they "Cannot Read"

Again right on M_B! I don't actually have a problem with India as a whole, it's just Ganguly...oh and the Terrace posters...:!(

Well you can take Ganguly and Kaif off that list until they do something quickly! The reason I say India's batting lineup is so weak is the simple fact that they are no where near the strongest batting lineup on current form...actually they are near the bottom...

So if you were just implying that I am stupid why did you call me "Englishman Rik" which implies that I'm English and therefor stupid?

Anyway, don't worry, I rate you just under terrace anyway...

I think that's because we were discussing India's pathetic batting lineup which had just mauled England, and also the lil' factor that Saurav scored an unbeaten century at more than a run a ball the last time we met.
Secondly you are a Yank.

Anyway, so Englishman Rik means you are English and therefore stupid? Looks like you now started to associate 'Rik' with stupid yourself  Wow! So an 'Englishman Rik' would be an English idiot..

Just to clarify it, I just consider you stupid. No other strings to it.. and here you reinforce my opinion:

Thanks. I was losing sleep over what a joker in a cricket forum thought of me... nice of you to put that at rest.

Yank/English person yes, what's so wrong with that? Does that suddenly mean I know nothing about cricket oh lord of cricket knowledge?

If you had actually read what I said rather than just quoting it you would understand that it makes sense. India's lineup is nowhere near being the best in the world ON CURRENT FORM. How can you say a team who has scored 161, 121, 99 and 154 in their last 4 Test innings is the best batting side in the world? Come on? That's almost as bad as Bangladesh!

Anyway, I thought you were the joker...I mean "Englishman Rik", that's almost "Fireman Sam"esq...

Look mate I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to talk about Cricket. If I needed to make friends then I doubt I would be on an International Cricket Site where most of the people live overseas and I will probably never see. So you can have your opinion, it's no skin off my back.

Yeah, I do think, quite a lot actually. You should learn to distinguish between the rational posters and the irrational ones, Rik. Now, rational doesn't translate to always agreeing with you. As far as I can remember, I have never called you an idiot and never disputed your ability to read, but I have disputed your logic and have argued with you. If that makes me "irrational" or "terrace", then so be it.

When you are making flaming arguments just to get back at a set of posters who are not even present in this forum nowadays, what does that make you, Rik?

Errrm mate...I wasn't insulting you...I don't consider you an idiot anyway.

I was being sarcastic since I had so many run-ins with those provactive posters.

Anyway you are forgetting that at least 2 of those posters still post on this forum. No naming names.
