i think i've hit people aged upwards of 40 during sparring games in group muay thai/mma classes. In those McDojo gyms, but one where the coach is legit and the students are consistent. So you go beyond shadow boxing and start doing drill repetitions, hitting each other lightly. You're supposed to block/catch each others strikes, so it's like one person practicing offence while the other practices defence.

I've done those with people of all ages and sizes and skill levels. So I guess what I'm saying is that I've definitely hit a few guys old enough to be my dad.
