This looks far worse for Australia if you only look at the last two years.

Won 4, lost 20.

That's a win/ loss ratio of 0.2. Abysmal. And now Smith and Warner aren't going to get any warm ups in the UAE.

So this is almost tangential but the weather in Brisbane had been ridiculously wet this Autumn. With the training camp and friendly ODIs going on here the Aussie side might be out of luck with the weather. It's so unusual because normally Brisbane is dry and sunny through the colder months.

Ok so overnight all the rain has cleared and the weather is perfect.

Latham hit a pretty big six off Stoinis earlier in the day. That and the Smith catch were the highlights.

If Australia play a fast bowling attack of Coulter- Nile, Starc and Cummins they'll have a ridiculous tail. Almost as good as England's.

Why exactly are Neser and Abbott in the squad for the 2nd warm up game? Surely it's better to give game time to those actually in contention for the World Cup.

Richardson in for Richardson then.

Starc taking 2-7(4) so far and Smith getting 89*(77) are both great signs going forward.

Neser is a local and Abbott was only a short flight from Sydney away and is probably best in line as far as fast bowlers go.

Been thinking about it, they are both in the Australia A squad, so probably the coaching staff wanted a closer look at potential replacements in case of yet more injuries before the World Cup.
