Specialist squad?

Would it be best to pick Twenty20 specialist players in a squad for such games, esp with the Twenty20 world cup coming up? In my opinion, specialists such as Adam Hollioake and Mark Ealham should be in with a shout.

Twenty20 XI:
1) Loye (Wk)
2) Benning
3) Maddy
4) Ali Brown
5) Pietersen
6) Flintoff
7) Hollioake (Capt)
8) Masceranhas
9) Ealham
10) Blackwell
11) Broad

Perhaps a batsman short?

Though ideally every country should send a specialist Twenty20 side for the Twenty20 WC, but i don't think thats going to happen because if the well know players (or lets be more precise "The Superstars")don't take part in this tournament then this tournament would fail create enough interest. If thats case the tournament would fail to generate enough money, and ICC would never want that to happen, because lets be honest ICC's prime objective behind staging such a tournament is to make money.

Slightly off topic but Maddy is by far the best twenty20 player out there and MUST play in the twenty20 world cup for England, I am sorry, but if he does not play in the twenty20 world cup:

a) England won't win
b) Maddy might as well retire as twenty20 keeps his career alive
c) I will have lost all faith in twenty20's originality and it will look more and more like an ODI replacement.

Sory but Darren Maddy is not the best 2020 player A)In the world and B)that's English.

He's a great 2020 player, but he's over rated because he was the first to really get to grips with the format when it was first introduced.

Neither are James Benning or Ali Brown as good in 2020 as people make them out to be.

The best 2020 batsman in the world is Brad Hodge, the best 2020 batsman in England is Graeme Hick.

Pietersen isn't a very good 2020 player at all, he only averages 22, there are loads of English batsmen with a lot better records than that.

And i'd be tempted to have TIm Ambrose as keeper over Nixon.

Pietersen is one of those players that you have to have in there, his natural talent is just so immense.

Ambrose vs Nixon - well, maybe, but Nixon has the international experience as well as that ability to improvise under big pressure. I think he's England's best short-term ODI option, tbh.

Not meaning to start an argument, but so was Graeme Hick and Mark Raprakash's in 4 day cricket.

In reality i seriously wouldn't pick him, and there's no way he'd get near a specialist squad either but that's my opinion.

Watching him in 2020 he just doesn't seem the same player as he is in ODIs, not sure why but he seems like he maybe thinks he has to bat faster than he is or gets carried away a bit.

Who gives a toss if he isn't a good Twenty20 player. Anyone who is a key player in 50 over cricket can handle Twenty20 easily..

Well, maybe the selectors as after all they're playing IN THE TWENTY20 WORLD CUP.

Anyone who argues against Pietersen's selection, it's crazy.

I don't care if he has a bad one day record, he is the best batsman in the country, and that's good enough for me.

Haha ,reputation?? I can't belive I'm having this argument.

The bloke averages 54 and strikes at over 90 in ODIs. There have been times where he has had a strike rate of 150. He is an immensley talented player and would be a great 20-20 player.
