Chasing a permanent doubles partner for the open, and rest of the season, if any fellow CDR nationals are interested.

I'm interested in that considering my singles ranking continues to drop. You'll probably want someone with a higher entry rank than mine in the meantime, though.

Happy to go with a foreign player for tournaments until ranking are even, or for when we aren't attending the same event.

Not final, so if I've left any one out who wants in and is thereabouts ranking wise or made a mistake just say. :) I seem to remember Smeltz wanting to pair up for the Slams, 1000s, etc. but can't remember if he found a partner...

Awesome that Maxum and Bowenburg are seeded. It's what we've been working towards for quite some time.

Naa wont be playing doubles in the near future, if I'm likely to end up playing Davis Cup doubles then I'll look at playing a few of the major tournaments then for a bit of practice.

Places drawn for seeds at Australian Open

The opening stages of the draw for next week's Australian Open have seen the 32 seeds drawn in their places, and already a number of exciting prospects have emerged. Only Jason Hall (1) and Daniel Páez Blanco (2) were guaranteed spots on the first and 128th line respectively as the other thirty were drawn in lots of two, four, eight and eight. The big news is that a replay of last year's final could be on the cards with Radek Špidlá and Hall drawn on opposite sides of the draw, whilst four of the more exciting players drawn are in section four with big servers Darcy Cowan (6), Miroslav Brdar (14) and David Champion (28) as well as exciting Frenchman Patrick Pascaul (21).

Possible third round matches:
1-Jason HALL (USA) vs. 31-Heath DAVIS (FRC)
22-Almen BENAGLIO (SUI) vs. 10-Dwayne MURDOCH (USA)

15-Henry CHARLES (GBR) vs. 17-Randy SMELTZ (CDR)
25-Sanchez EMELIO (ESP) vs. 7-József BOROS (HUN)

4-Radivoj DANEU (SRB) vs. 29-Jojo MUSTARD (FRC)
18-Zoltán VARGA (HUN) vs. 9-Illya ALTMAN (UKR)

14-Miroslav BRDAR (CRO) vs. 21-Patrick PASCAUL (FRA)
28-David CHAMPION (AUS) vs. 6-Darcy COWAN (USA)

8-Rasmus OLESEN (DEN) vs. 26-Diego HURTADO (COL)
20-Oneil STEWART (JAM) vs. 11-Jefferson DRAKE (CDR)

12-Rick HENSON (USA) vs. 24-Tiago MATÍAS (POR)
30-ZHIJUN Sun (CHN) vs. 3-Radek ŠPIDLÁ (CZE)

7-Sven OXENSTIERNA (FRC) vs. 32-Becker HAAS (GER)
19-Carlo AMATO (ITA) vs. 13-Juan MORENO (ARG)

16-Davis KENNEDY (CAN) vs. 23-Danijel MICIC (SRB)
27-Morgan CARTER (USA) vs. 2-Daniel PÁEZ BLANCO (ESP)

---

Tough luck again for Davis who, like at the CW Open, is drawn against Hall for a prospective third round clash (though that was as an unseeded player). Mustard, too, gets one of the worst top eight seeds to get in the third round - though note he was scheduled to face Daneu in Nixonstown in the same round before Daneu was beaten first up.

Drake unlucky to draw a proven GS performer from the 17-24 range, but Olesen and Hurtado are more gentle quarter final matchups should he make it past Stewart. Smeltz, too, probably will be happy with the seeds in his section but Hall in the quarters makes a daunting prospect.

Jumping for joy, though, is Sven Oxenstierna. Becker Haas is the least credentialled of the top 32, whilst Amato and Moreno are softer players from their pots. Has to make the quarters at least here where Blanco, Kennedy or Micic could await.

Complete Australian Open II draw revealed

CWLand copping the brunt of a pretty brutal draw to be honest. Maxum and Bre, not content with copping a tough section, get themselves drawn against seeds first up, whilst Delev has to hope for a Björn Donaldson miracle to avoid Radivoj Daneu in the second round.

Randy Banks should make it through the round of 128 unscathed, Hancianu draws a qualifier (but then Altman second) and Bowenburg looks likely to face Oneil Stewart in the second round.

Some cracking first round clashes too - Drake has former top 20 player Li, Dwayne Murdoch gets Jason Bradley in an All-American affair, and in the pick of the action current Sydney finalist Dmitry Orlov faces off against seventh seed József Boros.

Not that disappointed with the draw, believe I beat Charles in our last meeting, a potential quarter final with Hall would be good though.

I can't view at the moment who my first round opponent is, but the thought of playing against Oneil 'too cool for an apostrophe' Stewart in the second round is well, cool.

Can still enter doubles with someone if anyone wants a partner?
If no one says yes, I'll whack you in with someone else. :)

Because the doubles entry list isn't quite finalised, just the seeds in the doubles draw.

(10)GAI/LU vs.(7)KONC/MAXIMOV

(4)DRAKE/KORPINEN vs.(15)BLUNDELL/BOYD
(12)LEE/QINGDONG vs.(8)ANDUEZA/EMELIO

(6)COHEN/TEPER vs. (13)KROHMAL/SHVELIDZE
(11)MACHADRO/RODRIGUES vs.(3)DAVIS/MUSTARD

(5)S.BACHUNELLI/HADIR vs.(9)HARMEL/PARTMENTIER
