I have it the other way around tbh, the more avant garde bands/musicians the better for me, there's so much crap around like Muse and Jet, it's very rare to hear a decent band on mainstream radio, if you're hearing too much of the good stuff I'd like to know what station you're on.

Anyway this thread is about what lyrics one is listening too, not neccessarily what poncy ****s like me are listening too, if you want to post your Dion lyrics go ahead, Gods know I listen to plenty of cheesy ***** myself.

People post lyrics in the Favourite Song of the Week thread; they have for ages, too. It stands to reason that there is a considerable amount of overlap in the threads, and if Tom NCCC (or whatever his name is) can have his 'What Did You Do on the Weekend?' thread popped then this one should be too.

My point was that avant garde, being a term used for progressive diversion from the mainstream (as I understand it) means that if there was more of that around than the 'mainstream' stuff, you would actually be listening to mainstream music and it would no longer be avant garde.
