Been outplayed again when Aussies get a big first innings total, we have huge issues with our batting line up but to be honest winning this series with so many issues is a pretty ****ing great achievement. Well done lads.

This was a poor series (though not as bad as 09). But kudos to England for exploiting our weaknesses well.

Surely from a neutral perspective five hammerings shared amongst the teams is better than a 5-0

2nd and 3rd best teams in the world and both could be picking 6 new players between them for their next tests.

These are apparently the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the world...
Well we are 3rd ranked and I can't see that with this team. Scarily we would have been ranked 2nd had we won here. We are an average side with a few top players in it but I can't see us having a hope in hell in the next ashes series.

Lower quality of cricket than the 5-0 in Australia imo. That series had some amazingly good cricket even though one side dominated.
It wasn't like 06-07 where a great side destroyed England though. A few standouts were the main factor for Australia.

In this series there have been a few cracking innings (mainly from Root and Smith, shockingly enough) and a fair few very good spells of bowling.

Admittedly it's not been high quality throughout but in each Test there's been someone whose stood up and put on a great performance.

It doesn't help that there hasn't actually been that much cricket either.

Yeah, obviously not as good as 06-07 which was amazing. But MJ and Haddin were incredible throughout, Clarke and Smith got awesome hundreds, Harris' ball to get Cook, Stokes' hundred, etc... there just seemed to be more entertaining moments.

This series has had it's moments but overall it's been rather bleh. Maybe it's just Ashes fatigue. They've just been way too frequent.

Obviously he has to say it but this really hasn't been a team performance. It has been individual performances that won key moments, there have been a **** ton of passengers.
