The Wheel is Forever
Unlike Dhoni, AB is still amazing at chasing away from home. Dhoni is an ATG finisher but outside India he is mortal. AB is a God anywhere.
Look AB is the better overall batsman clearly, but there's no logical way you can say he's better in chasing situations in LO cricket than Dhoni. They have to actually win a few of these tournaments first.

The issue between comparing Dhoni and AB is that Dhoni since he became captain 7-8 years ago has strictly made himself a player who bats around the India batting order. The number of times Dhoni sent other batsmen to do the job before he came in strictly so his batsmen can develop robbed Dhoni of some easy runs and big innings scores, AB on the other hand bats @ 4, which is hardly a finishing position, so AB is the premier batsmen for SA, whereas Dhoni bats in a position where he is there strictly to finish the innings.

Also what's this about Dhoni's record being average overseas? The only place he's struggled to score is in SA, and I think that's just a bit of anomaly because he's literally scored everywhere else.

This is why the rest of us love Indian cricket fans so much. Objectivity.

Apparently, even Kohli is better than AB.

ABDV's built a career out of dominating JAMODIs. He might rectify that at the business end of this WC, but he hasn't yet. What you should be looking to gain, dogwalker, is a bit of perspective.

Madness. You are basing this off one Dhoni innings? It's hardly like Dhoni has won many cup knockout games chasing. Sure the 91 was class but AB got one chance at chasing in a knockout and was run out by a team mate. We don't exactly remember Bevan for cup chasing moments either do we?

cant compare dhoni and ab. different roles, dhoni comes a bit lower. dhonis a keeper bat, so is doing more than required atm. ab is a specialist batter. both are greats.

A specialist batter that keeps, bowls and is the worlds greatest fielder.

Yes he does come in a spot or sometimes two higher. But he is good enough to still be there to finish games. Is one of the greatest strikers to play the game and is imo better than either Bevan or Dhoni at doing it. Fortunately in an XI I could bat all 3 if I wanted.

Perhaps you both (more than 2 person actually) should your arguments based on facts and/or stats because otherwise, this Dhoni vs AB is likely (and already is) going to go down the circular route.
