Since you seem to be creating the threads for all the matches, can you also add a poll for each match asking who people think will win? Will add a little extra to the thread and can also be looked back on perhaps as to how the predictions went?

Make sure you set a closing time soon after the match starts to stop poll trolls getting in after the fact.
