Wow, every thing goes back to 'India'. Lol.

Majority of my foreparents/ancestors were taken from Indian way back in the 19th century and brought to the Caribbean. From the Bihar region. But along the way there were mixtures from the Punjab region, my dad's side is 'Singh'. Also my mom's side, they're more Afghani-Pakistani....and last but not least, some of my ancestors were from South India...Tamil Nadu.

It's all a mixture.
Technically it goes back to Africa..

Aboriginal Australia would also like a word.
I wish I knew more about that group of people.

When trundler said that it goes back to Africa, it was something I could not relate to. What I can relate to is the curry and the odd sanskrit word dished up to me by my Grandparents everyday. They stuck with their culture. And Sanskrit is an old language if I'm not mistaken (indian CW members, help me out here please.)

it’s the oldest known Proto-Indo-European Language and has dozens of geographical offshoots. It’s not exactly a surviving language though.

Telugu and Tamil which are Proto-Dravidian languages from around the same period (500 years give or take) each have 75m+ native speakers today.

All three are about 2500-3000 years old based on the best estimates today.

Yeah boy! Whilst it may not look like it from the way I dress, I've been playing jazz + bee-bop for almost 10 years now. Davis, Coltraine & Dizzy Gillespie (no, not the cricketer) are my biggest influences.
