    How time flys (for BB)

For some of the older guys here,( I know BB would be interested in some of this stuff, )have a look at the Indie Charts of legendary ITV show 'The Chart Show' from years gone by: 18 years ago..Charlatans number one, Northside, Mondays etc...18 bleedin years ago...

    Domestic Re-vamp

I know this is being talked about in the English Domestic thread, but I think it deserves its own. I suspect we might be seeing some changes pretty soon in the domestic set up. http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/england/content/current/story/352518.html I will give it some thought, and come back...

    Earthquake

Did anyone in the UK feel that last night? I woke up with the bed moving about. In my state of tiredness, I convinced myself it was a ghost, and so didnt get to sleep for ages afterwards. Stupid plate tectonics

    How could this happen?

August 1983 Essex vs Middlesex at Chelmsford An odd game where Middlesex were bowled out on the first morning for 83, but then in their second innings they scored 634 for 7 dec, after Essex scored 289 in their only innings.... but the odd thing for me (apart from Gooch bowling 56 overs in...

    How to define 'best batsman'?

As we all know, one of the more popular threads going is the 'who is the best/better batsmen?' type of thing. It would appear that everyone has a different view on what they see as being better or best. There are some who think that it is purely down to who scores more runs, there are some who...

    Harmison and the 2005 Ashes

This is something that cropped up in the Simon Jones thread which was locked. I think it is worthy of further discussion to be honest. Richard has basically said that Harmison only deserved credit for 3 wickets in important situations, ie the last 4 tests. Seems a bit harsh, considering...

    Cricketing moral dilemma

This one cropped up when I was playing on Saturday..and a few weeks ago We had played this team a few weeks ago, and they played a couple of young lads (15 year olds) in their team. They made a few whisphered moans about the fact that our opening bowler, who is pretty quick, didn't slow down...

    This thread is in jest

To save any further incidents, if you feel the need to come out with something outrageous, embarressing or any similar type of nightmare that you feel you might need to retract at any point, just throw it in this thread. If you aint 100% serious about somthing but cant be bothered to put a...

    Hayden vs Hussain

I dont like these 'who is better' debates really, but this is one that has started to take over the one regarding Sobers, and I thought it might be better to take it away from that thread. The basic gist of it is, Richard is of the opinion that Nasser Hussain was a better batsman Hayden is. He...

How will the Pakistan team react?

The very sad loss of Bob Woolmer may well have ramifications for other teams in this World Cup...namely Ireland and Zimbabwe. Pakistan have to play against Zimb on Thursday (?). Given that they are already out of the tournament, and with the further emotional trauma of losing their coach so...

    This World Cup

Have got to say, I have enjoyed this World Cup loads so far, and mostly because of Ireland.:) We have seen 36 in an over, spectacular collapses, one great tied game, low scores , big scores etc. So far, miles better than the last one. Who says the minnows dont have a place in the World Cup?

    The Clean Slate

Richard, it was encouraging to see that you took on board some of the things I said in that other thread. I am glad to see that maybe you are acting in a more adult manner, ie you might actually be starting to be a bit more flexible in your thinking. I hope you do carry out this kind of self...
