Interested to know your reasoning for this, out of genuine curoisity. Half of Full Metal Jacket is absolutely gun (excuse the pun) but gets fairly meh once they get in country.

Well, quite simply... I've never watched the Godfather

Plus, the first half of Full Metal Jacket is an absolute triumph.

So, the Godfather loses my vote by default, really. Unlike all the Star Wars films which I think are overrated pap

My missus is sadly very much anti-Italian gangster films. She hates Goodfellas, for example, so I was hoping to see it when it was on TV, but missed the last opportunity.

You may have to join an indoor sport team of your choice and instead of going and playing and training etc, take in The Godfather and other seminal Mafia movies

It could fall apart when she goes to watch you play and you come home to find her at the kitchen table with copies of Donnie Brasco and Casino spilled out of brown paper bags.

Well, the breaking point will come in the fact that I've convinced her that we will watch the IMDB top 250. We're making very slow progress, but that does mean she'll have to watch the Godfather 1 & 2 in order to complete the challenge.
