So is Paine less favoured than Wade for you blokes? Surely hes got to be the better keeper?

Surprised at the Aussie selection (if it true) seems almost as bad as the one from 2010 but we are nowhere near as good to exploit that.

Paine is a good keeper, but he’s kept in three games in two years. Flies in the face of every stated aim of the selectors over the past 12 months. His batting record is worse than Nev’s over their careers.

Is the Gabba now the best pitch in Australia? I feel like it may be.

Ahhhhh. It's been far too long without the game. Nothing better than the start of an Australian summer of cricket.

That's a race to the bottom.

Jonny Bairstow might be the difference between the two sides. That would be quite amusing.

Renshaw and Wade out

Bancroft and Paine in

I don't think the SMarsh mooted selection is as sure though...unconfirmed at the moment

I think the selectors are so flaky and reactionary, that they've gone with Paine on the back of his two half centuries in the past week.

Jumping at shadows really.

Renshaw, Cartwright, Maxwell, Wade, O'Keefe and Agar out, Bancroft, Khawaja, Marsh, Paine, Starc and Hazlewood in.

We're replacing over half the team since the last test.

Sure to be very flat around the country this Summer as the groundsmen will fee an (unspoken but very real) pressure to make this cash cow last at least four days
