Great idea to base a selection from 2 ODIs and ignore a whole year's worth of performances.
Great work to sit on statsguru all day churning out wicket tally's and ignore both the nature of his bowling and every argument made about it

Statsguru? You don't need to do much to realize he gets wickets. I thought that's what bowlers were supposed to do. Like batsmen are supposed to get runs.

"Nature of his bowling"

I guess I should've added that to the previous post.

You seem to think I'm basing my opinion on just numbers - I've seen enough of Ajantha already and I know he's better than this rubbish legspinner.

Well all I've heard from you is

"he gets wickets"

or

"Those arguments you made about his bowling style and it's relevance in these conditions that can't be quantified are just opinions"

so yes, I assume you completely go by numbers, forgive me

You know what, I'm getting to the point where I hope someone gets injured and they bring Mendis across, just to watch him take 1/80 in a crucial knockout match.

Another record for Sangakkara, he is now on the top of the all-time World Cup wicketkeeper dismissals list with 53 dismissals by beating Adam Gilchrist who dismiss 52.

Good thing SL has Prasanna instead who will contain the batsmen @ 7.5/over the same way he's been doing vs the mighty Scots.

Seems like there's a lot of great data for me to download and analyse following the completion of this game

Lol there's some spectator screaming out for Chameera to be in there for the knockouts as well.. maybe not a bad idea to risk him over Thisara? He'd definitely have the surprise factor if he gets it right.

Who are they facing? Given you have Dilshan and Mathews in the top 6 to cover overs if a bowler isn't performing, they could get away with it:

1. Malinga
2. Kulasekera
3. Chameera
4. Herath
5. Thisara
6. Mathews
7. Dilshan

I swear, from the time I started watching this, every single batsman has looked like they're batting with chunks of treated pine instead of actual cricket bats. Cannot time anything.

I think SL have to take a risk to have a chance of winning this time.. I would drop Thisara and roll the die with Chameera for the knockouts but it's not gonna happen. Or maybe drop Kusal and just go with 6 specialist batsmen and hope Thisara comes good with the bat.

Don't like Thisara and Chameera in the same line-up tbh
