Atleast we have our excuses ready.
Yeah, it's all a ruse IMO. Sehwag is actually fine but India have resigned themselves to defeat already so they're faking an injury as a ready-made excuse. Zaheer will get "injured" in the tour match as well.

Nothing wrong with the IPL. No one put a gun to Sehwag's head and forced him to play (as far as we know that is).
Yeah. Pretty illogical to blame the IPL.

If your son does not want to work in your fast food resto anymore and starts working in a firm for 10x the money, You blame 1)Your son, 2)Yourself for not paying him a competitive price . Blaming the firm for paying high is silly.

What if you own both the businesses? Thats closer to the situation with the BCCI sanctioning both the IPL and Test cricket.

He has been carrying this injury for more than 5/6 months before the World Cup atleast if not more.

He just went into get a operation now .He wasn't injured in the IPL and even if he hypothetically was he could have gotten injured playing any match.

Thats not the point. Sehwag was carrying an injury that didn't prevent him from playing on in the short term, but one that definitely needed to be operated on at some point in time. This was known to Sehwag and the team management from before the World Cup. It was also known to them that Sehwag would require a prolonged rest period after the operation was performed.

Despite this, Sehwag played in the IPL, and only withdrew himself from the competition once it became clear that Delhi had no chance of progressing. He then went on to get operated. If he had not played in the IPL at all, he would have shaved a few days/weeks off the required recovery period, and consequently been made available for the first Test in England.

The fault clearly lies with Sehwag and/or the Delhi Daredevils management and/or the BCCI for not putting their foot down and forcing the situation as it should have. This is simply not a case of the inevitable.

don't think india will need sehwag for the 3rd or 4th test ( team's only vulnerable in the early part of the tour)- he can get the **** off. should rest and get fit for the world champions league!!!!

first does **** all in the SA series and then deliberately stays out of teh england series.

Good old IPL, I won't hear a word against it.
yeah how dare a player play domestic cricket when there's no int. cricket and get injured 8-) and domestic cricket be pilloried for it??

for those blaming sehwag, I don.t think any player in the world plan to get injured so that he can take off from playing. that's as dire as an argument can get.

This must surely be right.

I fail to see how anyone can possibly come to any conclusion other than Sehwag put the IPL before touring WI and/ or England.

It's his prerogative. I can't blame him for doing it. Doesn't have enough cabbage, obviously.

Don't reckon we should be too harsh on Sehwag, probably thought he could have his cake and eat it too.

Think there were some more complications than expected with his operation ,which he was putting off for months.

This has been due from even before NZ toured India. It's just that he went in for it at this time. Was the reason as well why he wasn't bowling.
