Yeah agreed. There was an IT law socialising event a few weeks ago I dropped into. About 15 people there, but just dominated by the usual "ooh look how clever I am" types. so left immediately. The problem I've had is that socialising on Zoom only really works with 4 or 5 people max, but it's hard to organise an event that size without feeling like you're leaving people out.
ask yourself: did OT come so so good because of the rona, or did it come around when shady slim came back to grace it with his presenceOT activity to be maintained

Christ being back in the office has been wonderful. Banging through the country lanes every morning, doing an hours work over a brew then nipping out for a bacon butty, its just felt great acting normal. Working from home was driving me nuts - didn't help that we didn't have any broadband (BT have been putting off reconnecting the old phone line for months), but still, sitting in a corner of my lounge staring at the wall all day was horrid. I was starting to resent my own front room the amount of time I spent in there. Plus I couldn't take all the files home so was constantly without some information i needed. Actually found myself working twice as hard at home than I did in the office, which is frankly appalling,I miss the face to face interaction at work. A lot of one liners and banter which works in face to face hearings falls flat or isn't attempted over the phone/ online. Plus the people I work with are a good bunch and I consider them friends.
It's also much harder to gauge a witness's credibility and demeanor over the web compared with face to face. That and less cases are settling which means more work!
This morning I took the car over for a service, grabbed a take away coffee and got an uber home and it felt so normal. It was just fantastic to do something so prosaic and basically put me in a good mood for the rest of the day until I logged in here and read a zorax post.
This has all definitely made us view things from a different angle
This is what I get for trying to be a good poster. No more quarky puns. That should get a reaction from the physicists here
this is the kettle calling the pot a kettle tbhnot often you get to say that the rona is better than someone
Sounds fantastic tbh. The issue I have is I'm working longer and harder here at home than I normally do. I usually come home and do at most a couple of hours work most nights but that is about it. I'm sitting here atm punching out a decision at nearly 11pm. Fmd Saturday night Mrs Burgey and I were both in the office downstairs doing work. Give me your phone number and I'll quote you lines from The Simpsons.I miss the face to face interaction at work.
