Pakistan elected to bat first upon winning the toss, citing an excellent batting surface, despite the cloudy overhead conditions. What followed was an intense battle between two evenly matches teams, as the game headed into the fifth day with an exciting run chase by the Cricket Web XI.

Hmm 14 runs, but once again a lot of positivies from that match. Great to see Wilson really finding his feet in the all rounder spot. Good to see the Kennett and Buts finding some form. The performance of Pickup in the 1st Innings was brilliant, as was Cloete batting in the 2nd innings to get us so close.
Overall we continue to show some really good signs of improvement, just need to find killer instant and step and win the game when its there for taking.

Some killer, stand up and be counted for performances by Pickup (who can't buy a wicket in England), Cloete, Wilson, Kennett and Butler.

Impressive stuff from a number of players. Wilson did very well in the all-rounder spot, which nobody has managed to really excel in for a while. Some great bowling performances as well. Top order probably let the team down a little in the end, Cloete and Butler aside. Good overall performance though.
