When do the ODI specialist players go to Australia?

I ask because there's a CW A 'test' on the 14th, which is the same day as the tour match against Tasmania. Chaulk, DeSilva, Hancock, Patrick and myself are all part of the A squad,
i wish but im fresh and ready to take on australia

great to get a crack at the Aussies in the OD'ers especially on the back of the success of the Test team... I've been holidaying with family over in Australia for a while before the upcoming test series and it was great watching the test down at the pub.

I believe this is the first ever time I've captained a CW XI side in any game - it's a massive, massive honour and I will do everything in my power to ensure a performance follows.

I'm not happy that Patrick's ahead of me in the list, though.

This is definitely the first time I've donned the CW XI outfit, and I'll borrow a line from Neil - it's a massive, massive honour. Albeit a warmup game, it's still a great experience. Go CW.

Butterworth looms as the dangerman one would think.

Cricket Web XI vs Tasmania
at Hobart

Unconvincing batting and bowling were inconsequential, as the Cricket Web XI won their tour match against Tasmania by 21 runs. A laboured innings of 64 off 127 balls by Travis Birt hurt the Tasmanians in their run chase, and 255 proved a winning total after the Webheads batted first.

Liam Camps and Ian Markus added 74 for the first wicket, but upon the demise of the latter, the tourists lost wickets at a steady pace and stumbled to 5/144. Ash Chaulk and Marc Robbins played well in the middle overs, then gave way to the big hitting of Xavier Rose in the late stages.

Rose struck 3 fours and a six off the first 6 deliveries he faced, then settled for 33 not out off 25 balls. Ben Geeves finished with 4 for 57 and the Cricket Web XI ended with 8 wickets down for 255 runs.

Defending the total was a tough ask in the good batting conditions at Hobart, but the approach of the home side differed greatly on that point. It was not until Michael Bevan's 43 (49 balls) that any real urgency was apparent, and despite lusty contributions from Bailey and Lockyear, (largely at the expense of Nath Patrick's bowling figures) the Webheads got home by a clear margin.

Marc Robbins bowled impressively in the middle overs on his return to the senior side, and Xavier Rose was the best of the Cricket Web pace bowlers on show.

Cricket Web XI 255-8
Tasmania 234-6

Top stuff guys, though it was, as Liam said, fairly unconvincing.

Disappointed with my score but oh well, go CW.

Tasmania are far from useless as a one day team, and won the ING Cup a couple of seasons back, so to beat them was a good effort. Looked pretty comfortable all the way, though Bevan is always a worry, but the spinners did a good job strangling his key partnership with Birt.

Proud of my efforts with the drinks. Didn't spill a drop.

Three new names in CW XI ODI squad

Brendan Goff will lead a 15-man squad in the 3-match one-day international series against Australia. The party sees the inclusion of three new faces. Nick Hancock of the Cricket Web Colts and top allround prospect, Sean Fuller get their first shot at international cricket for the senior side.

The third new addition to the squad is Rob Dauth. Considered one of the best young batsmen in CWLand, Dauth has had problems with discipline in the past, but now graduates to the senior side with a chance to impress against the country of his birth.

Also included in the squad is Marc Robbins, who returns after being sacked for the tour of the West Indies, due to a fall out with coach Pratyush Agarwal.

Excluded from the side that played in the Caribbean are David Kearsley, Mike Wilson, Callum Thompson and Bryce Cunningham.

CW XI ODI squad:
BJ Goff (C), AP Chaulk (wk), CR Butler, MW de Silva, NR Hancock, SE Fuller, I Markus, RJ Dauth, LA Camps, MJ Robbins, NS Hoy, XPA Rose, NL Patrick, TC Halsey, NS Pickup.
Wow. It's an honor to be selected! I'm happy to join the growing ranks of Colts players who have played for CricketWeb, such as Greg Thomas and Kyle Wright. This is a massive, unexpected achievement. I hope I can do Townsy and the boys proud :)

Good professional effort from the team IMO.

Pretty much all batsmen had some decent time in the middle then tidy bowling meant they were pretty much always behind the game.

Haha, not a big fan of the way the umpire turned down all my many LBW appeals, then asked the score-people to add extra runs to my figures! But nether-the-less, I didn`t bowl well enough, but cheers for the chance. :) Rose, Marc and the Spin Twins were excellent, and Liam and Ian got us off to a great start. Enjoyable match.
