Good from these two, De Bruyn looks a good player and Bavuma talented. If they can see out the day with De Kock to come they have a decent chance to get close to us.

Ballance is definitely Root's boy too. Bayliss seemed somewhat less than fulsome in his praise for the returning Franco-Zimbok.

Dawson is even more mystifying. Can't see how a second offie (third if one counts the skipper) adds anything. I see the thinking (Broad not an 8 anymore, etc.) but Roland-Jones has FC tons and would surely have offered more control.

Another specialist bat was the sensible shout though.

This wicket is very similar to modern day Durban and Broad & England have loved it there in recent years. We were all asking why 2 spinners even if only Dawson and we see why. SA will rue their lack of professionalism which has been in this team for the last while.

Back to Broad : I don 't think there is a better quick than him on these types. Steyn if he gets back to his best possibly.

Fielding has been **** as usual today, getting towards even stevens. Need a late wicket, these two both look really good.

Saffers hit the quota targets pretty comfortably in the limited overs stuff, would it really hurt them if they binned Duminy and brought in Morris for the last 2 tests?

Fantastic ball, champion spell from Anderson that. Swung game back to us there, but still a quality bat to come tomorrow. Would like to get rid of night watchman as hate them in morning after
