Rashid has only failed to take a wicket once in his last 19 matches. Such a useful player, guarantees you wickets regardless of how expensive he can be.

That was a pretty poor decision initially. Not really enough from Maxwell to retain his spot I suspect. Shame, it was looking a decent innings.

he's getting overhyped because of a couple of innings. This is still someone who averages 32 in List A and that average is consistent with his time with Victoria both at the top of the order and in the middle, it can't be put down to his time with WA at the start of his career. Indeed, he's averaging 33 for this series. When I say batsman, that can easily be Maxwell. We don't need Stonis bowling unless Marsh isn't playing
No, he's actually pretty good. As I said, we haven't got any specialist batsmen who are better than Stoinis anyway, so dropping him just because he can bowl would be incredibly stupid.

classic Maxwell though. Such an atrocious shot, he's missed it by a foot.

Wonderful bowling. If he can swing the next one the hat tricks on.

Edit: wasn’t a hat trick ball haha.

Thought by some sure, but Clarke came out post-retirement in his book I think and said he wanted Katich in his side post-2010 Ashes.
Micky Arthur is quoted in Brettig's book saying that Clarke wanted Katich in over Cowan when Hughes got dropped after the NZ series (well Clarke didn't even want Hughes dropped but he was fine with Katich coming in)

The Katich thing is so stupid. he got dropped because Australia just had their butts kicked at home, his form had been **** and then he got injured to boot, and the 3 other 34 to 36yos couldn't get dropped (Ponting, Hussey and Haddin). He was the easy one to kick out and someone was gonna be kicked out

I'm picking Usman and Marsh as specialist ODI batsman before Stonis every day of the week at this stage

To bat top 3, maybe. Maybe. But they won't be batting top 3.

Stoinis is far superior to them at #5 to 7 which is where they'll need someone, especially if they persist with Head in the top order.

Hard to argue with TJB here, not sure why it's even worth questioning your best-performing middle order bat.

This is pretty fun.

Weird series this has been. Would never have thought before it started that the highest score would only be 310 odd.

Been entertaining though.

You'll be shocked to learn that I'm not persisting with somehow fitting Head into the team no matter what in the scenario where I'm just picking Usman/Marsh

Warner
Finch
Usman/Marsh
Smith (truthfully I'd bat Smith at 3 but he seems to like handing that off)
Marsh/Stonis
Maxwell
A Keeper

Hales dropping Paine could be big

Hales, of course, is more used to dealing with objects that have already been dropped to the ground
