In “people who should be permanently blacklisted from influential public opinion” news, congratulations to law professor Richard Epstein who confidently predicted that the total number of US deaths due to covid would less than 500. Total.

Took all of one one week for that to be completely wrong. Not that it’s stopped him still getting airtime on Reason, Richochet, other conservative outlets etc

Conservative media has been through a roller coaster from ‘it’s a hoax’ to ‘the flu kills more people, car accidents kill more people, abortions kill more people’ to ‘deaths are mere collateral damage at the altar of the sacred economy’.

Increasingly worried that Atlanta and Georgia in general will be a pretty big hotspot within two weeks. Lack of testing, really high positivity rate (20%), already seeing double-digit deaths, governor is asleep at the wheel, and then this morning a report of a woman found dead in their home from covid - she was 42.

Well, at least the latter is closer to their real opinions, I guess...

Wasn't the Georgia Governor election under some scandal cloud or something? Vaguely recall some issues with the current Governor, if I am not wrong.

I wonder how politics is affecting things in other countries

South African health specialists were in South Africa right now. They're really struggling for supplies IIRC.

I'm not necessarily a big fan of Modiji or KCR but they've handled this exceptionally.
Yeah am in the same boat. The've been proactive to take the measures that the situation demanded.

Also loved how KCR sublty sneaked in the 'shoot on sight' order directing at those d**** who can't keep off the roads for no reason.
