My parents wished me a happy new year yesterday. I returned the sentiments because it's rude not to but inside I was a mass of rage and fury.

Now, how long after a birthday is it acceptable for one to wish another a happy birthday?

It's a tricky one imo, because there is a difference between saying "Belated happy birthday!", and some other gesture along the lines of "I hope you had a good birthday?".

Someone wished me a happy new year on an email in work today. Have reported them to HR.

Sat in the hairdressers today and was fearful someone would wish me happy New Years ... Thankfully they didn't.. Crisis averted...

Aside from the VM comedians on this site, and Daemon's HILARIOUS antics of wishing me a Happy New Year all year last year, yesterday i got an email from somebody I already hated and he wished me a Happy New Year in it.

Would have posted about it yesterday but I was too disgusted.
