No, India didn't handle the pressure well. That is the point of his comment. Their last over should have lasted 4 deliveries at most because of how badly he bowled. Just because Bangladesh came up with an all time great choke job doesn't mean India handled the pressure well. Totally nonsense statement.
Ok,India handled it better than Bangladesh, which is the only thing that matters.

A wide bouncer was the plan from the lip reading that I managed to do. It may be a terrible plan but Pandya did what was asked of him.

Are you expecting Pandya to magically turn into Waqar Younis? The team did well overall, held their tricky catches, made the run-outs when it mattered.

Yeah the argument being made is weird. Pandya has only so much skill and I don't know what else to expect from him. The Jadeja catch was excellent under pressure.. Dhoni's run out was superb.

That was a really great catch from Jadeja there at the end. India could have very well out-choked Bangladesh by dropping any of the catches in the last over like they did over the whole match.

Mushfiqur and Mahmadullah may well have this game etched into their memory. Ridiculous.

Why wasn't the non-striker running in with Pandya? It was like he in a Test match. If he does that then Dhoni has to throw.

Literally not the point of the discussion. Do try to keep up.

Pandya bowled two terrible deliveries first up, a nothing length delivery and then a waist high full toss. That is pure garbage, nothing more.

Yes, except that wasn't the end of the match, it doesn't matter if you are fantastic for 99% of the game, you still have to finish it off, and Bangladesh screwed up worse than India. What does it say about Bangladesh that they weren't able to capitalize on the garbage that was dished out too them?

Maybe because of all the mankadding that has been going on lately.
That doesn't stop you running in with him. The non-striker was practically stood still when the ball was delivered. There is a middle ground there.

Not that a mankadding would have particularly mattered anyway at 8 down with 1 ball to go.

Dhoni did what was an obvious, basic thing in having his right glove off. The non-striker tossed away a few percentage points by dawdling.

That they choked unbelievably, aren't a very good team and didn't handle the pressure even 1%. It has absolutely no bearing on whether India handled pressure well or not. Bumrah did, Pandya didn't. Simple

@contra: He is not praising Bangladesh. Why are you going on about that? I disagree that Pandya failed to keep his cool btw... He did what was possible considering his abilities.

**** this is a tough tough loss to grab

In hindsight, this should not have been gone to the last over needing 11. But Bumrah has done really well with his 18th over. Mullah should have finished this because it's not like he was never in a situation like this before,

2011 WC v England - won it
2012 Asia Cup v Pakistan - lost it
2016 Asia Cup v Pakistan - won it
2016 WC v India - lost it

If there was one player that I would back to win it while chasing if situation gets murky its Mullah. I am naturally very angry at him right now because he happens to be my favorite player as well. Got a full toss and went for it. It went to the fielder and BD lost the game eventually. Sometimes things happen which is just hard to swallow. It's one of those things.

Gawd, imagine if SA had done what the Bangers did in that last over.

Loved the work by Dhoni for the last wicket. Quality.
