Word of Mouth from BBC Radio 4. Podcast on language, word origins and stuff like that..
The History of India Podcast by Kit Patrick. ****s up all the names so bad that they are incomprehensible but otherwise pretty good stuff.
Song Exploder.. Pick a song, ask the artist to break down the process of composition.
Slate Money.. Not the most balanced perspective but often entertaining
More Perfect from Radiolab.. Probably my favourite podcast. Deals with American law. Covers topics such as what is cruel and unusual etc.
Planet Money from NPR. Probably the best econ podcast.
Invisibilia from NPR.
History of Philosophy in India..
And a couple of MMA Podcasts: Fights Gone By from Jack Slack and Heavy Hands

I went through a Carlin one over the last couple of days -- US Imperialism around the turn of the century, Spanish-American War, Roosevelt etc. Absolutely brilliant. I'm hooked.
Picking one to load onto my phone for holiday listening aws. The Khans might be good. I started on WW1 and really like the style but the content is a bit too familiar, and I know almost nothing about Khan.

Found it funny how the intro is all HARDCORE HISTORY DUN DUN DUN DUN then he starts off really philosophical.

I listen to Joe Rogan's which is pretty popular and The Brilliant Idiots because I like hip hop and goofs.

If you wanna start small and unfamiliar, Prophets of Doom is pretty good.

I listened to a parody of hardcore history by Earwolf that is about the history of Westeros.

When I started listening to it I had no idea that HH existed so I just thought it was someone being incredibly strange, being awed by the existence of dragons in recorded history and making extensive analogies about their military use.

Don't know how I didn't mention this before, but Mike Duncan's history podcasts are also sublime, especially his work on Rome.

An old youtube channel called 'The Forbidden History of Unpopular People' was great. Not sure what happened to it or if the guy switched to podcasts.

I quite like Joe Rogan's podcast; but then again I'm into both Stand Up comedy and MMA, so naturally I'm drawn towards the topics he likes to talk about. He also does a lot of talking about fitness and health and wellness and recreational drug use. Has some really cool guests on. All interesting stuff.

Apart from that, there's this great cricket podcast by a couple of CW members...

My Dad wrote a porno.

Self explanatory title, but yes, it's a guy narrating an ****** novel written by his dad. It's ****ing hysterical.

Haha, I couldn't actually get through Prophets of Doom in the end, for this reason. I found the analogies laboured, and kind of patronising. Also they slowed everything down, and he talks really slowly anyway. It's a problem I have with a lot of non-Irish podcasts.

I've been really liking Keeping it 1600, vic's recommendation. The hosts are fine but some of the guests they get are absolutely fascinating.

Have started listening to Welcome to Night Vale, because I could use another cult to be a part of.

Enjoyed it for quite some time but then the novelty seemed to wear off a bit. The weather reports are quite good though.
